Check Out These Awesome Events in Falmouth, MA
1. Falmouth Farmers Market
One of the best ways to experience our town is through our local foods. Between May and October, take a stroll through the Falmouth Farmers Market in Marine Park. Taste fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, and artisanal cheeses from Falmouth and Buzzards Bay. The market runs from noon to six on Thursdays.
2. Woods Hole Film Festival
If you love movies and short films, you have to experience the Woods Hole Film Festival! The eight-day summer event is jam-packed with things to do. Filmmakers and non-filmmakers can attend independent film screenings, panel discussions, awards ceremonies, and more!
3. Cape Cod Brew Fest
If having the option to try 300 different beers sounds like paradise, you need to attend the Cape Cod Brew Fest. More than 100 Cape Cod breweries represent their unique ales at the annual festival in the fall. Your ticket includes a diverse variety of beer samples, live music, and fantastic food vendors.
You have to be 21 to attend, and you can buy designated driver tickets for a discounted price that includes non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, and a pint glass!
Running Events in Falmouth
4. Falmouth Road Race
More than 11,000 athletes race to Cape Cod in August for the Falmouth Road Race in Woods Hole. Registration begins in May for the seven-mile race, and nonresidents of Falmouth must go through a random selection to run. There are also age and pace requirements to participate, so make sure you’re eligible!
5. Cape Cod Marathon Half and Cape Cod Marathon
In October, make a run for the Cape Cod Marathon Half or the Cape Cod Marathon! The half marathon is a great way to catch the perfect view of the Falmouth area, as this scenic route gives you an outstanding view of Martha’s Vineyard and N
antucket Sound. The best part: both events provide tons of goodies in your race entry fee. They include a T-shirt, swag bag, a picture at the finish line, apple cider donuts, a Hot Clam Chowdah station, and so much more!
Put your game face on, because you’ll compete with nearly 2,000 trained athletes in the half marathon and 1,000 in the full marathon.
6. Annual Strawberry Festival
Falmouth used to be a famous location for strawberries, with huge meadows of this juicy crop leading down to the ocean’s edge and restaurants from Boston to New York bragging about the juicy fresh Falmouth berries. While most of the strawberry fields are gone now (replaced with Cape Cod homes built like crazy in the ’40s & ’50s), the Strawberry Festival remains, a vestige of a simpler time. In a charming gathering under a huge tent, you will find well-priced lobster rolls, strawberry shortcakes, hot dogs, face painting, attic treasures and more. And just down Main Street, the Arts Alive Festival rocks out the same weekend with live music, crafts, artists, and much more.
