Travel to Woods Hole by Bus

It might as well be since Woods Hole is the best place to go when you want to be nostalgic and feel like a kid again. Peter Pan has bus routes to Woods Hole several times a day to suit your needs. They also have buses leaving from Boston Logan Airport if you’re just arriving in the city.

Get to Woods Hole by Car

If you’re driving to Woods Hole, expect to drive for at least an hour-and-a-half (not including traffic or stops). Check ahead of time to see traffic conditions, because Boston tends to be bumper-to-bumper. MA-3 and I-495 will likely be the best routes to take.

Attractions Along the Way

If you take MA-3, make sure you stop by Plymouth Rock. This American icon is a must as you drive through Plymouth. Legend has it; the boulder was the landing point for the first pilgrims in the 1620s. There isn’t any written evidence that this is true, but an elderly man once claimed that his father was on the Mayflower, and they made their first step on that rock.

Although it looks like just an ordinary rock, millions of people visit the boulder because of what it stands for. You can see it for yourself with a quick stop during your road trip!
